2024 Strive Scholarship Golf Outing

Racine Founder's Rotary Club is excited to help make a difference in the lives of children seeking further education. We are hosting our annual golf outing at Ives Grove Golf Links. Please join us in our pursuit of supporting the Dennis Barry STRIVE Scholarship and reach our yearly fund raising goal of $30,000. Our 2023 event raised enough funds to provide 11 scholarships, in the amount of $2,000 each, to Racine High School seniors seeking to further their education.

Dennis J. Barry STRIVE Scholarships are awarded annually by the club in memory of Dennis Barry, a long-standing and energized Rotarian. Winners display many positive attributes including "Service Above Self", the Rotary International motto coined by founder Paul P. Harris who was born in Racine. The scholarship committee awards these scholarships to students who excel the most in the following categories:

• Active involvement in school and community activities
• Quality and the message in their essay "Service Above Self"
• Significant academic improvement through their 4 years in high school
• Have overcome adversity in their life

This scholarship is designed to be unique among scholarships. The Dennis Barry Strive Scholarship is intended for students who began their high school career with grades that did not reflect their potential, but by their senior year have shown significant improvement in their academic ability. Applicants should also be able to demonstrate their active involvement in school and community activities.
